Trophy Hunt and Fish New Zealand is based at Kuratau Resort on the south western shore of Lake Taupo, where the Kuratau River runs into New Zealand’s largest lake in the centre of New Zealand’s north Island, just north of the volcanic mountains on the central plateau.

Trophy Animals

In the wilderness, near our base, six deer species can be hunted for trophies – Red Deer, Wapiti or Elk, Sika Deer, Fallow, Sambar and Rusa.

In the South Island of New Zealand some deer species can also be hunted for trophies, as well as Chamois and the Himalayan Thar.

Other trophy animals handy to Lake Taupo includes Wild Pig, Wild Goat and Wild Sheep.
